A structured approach to learning to fly

Learn to Fly Today!
Embark on your journey to earning a pilot’s license with a structured program designed for safety and efficiency. You’ll follow a proven syllabus to guide you every step of the way into the skies.
I use the Gleim syllabus for flight instruction, the same trusted curriculum utilized by Part 141 flight schools. It can be applied under both Part 61 and Part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). For more details on FAA requirements for obtaining a pilot’s license, visit the FAA Training Resource site.
To enhance your learning experience, I supplement training with materials from Rod Machado, a respected aviation educator and humorist. You can explore his resources here.
My Experience
I bring over 25 years of flight instruction experience in both civilian and military aviation. As a former Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner for AH-64 Apache and MH-47 Chinook helicopters during my U.S. Army service, I honed my skills, training pilots under diverse conditions. After retiring from the Army, I became a check airman for a national air ambulance operator.
My credentials include:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Aviation
- Over 7,300 total flight hours
- Over 2,000 hours of flight instruction
I tailor my teaching approach to suit each student’s learning style for a personalized and effective experience.
Training Locations
Based in Saratoga Springs, Utah, I instruct clients from Salt Lake City to Spanish Fork. I have access to several airplanes for training, or we can use your own aircraft if you prefer.
